Leading the redesign of Walmart’s private label products meant update existing private brand products to align with Private Brand Standards, competitive market benchmarks, and regulatory compliance requirements; sometimes redesigns were facilitated by resourcing suppliers.
Several key categories within the Great Value Consumables and Parent’s Choice Baby portfolio were being prioritized for packaging overhauls which encompassed:
- facilitating timely packaging reviews with key partners: category merchants, design agency and vendors
- writing creative briefs and briefing the creative agency
- setting clear work-back schedules for all internal and external partners
- working with vendor partners on depletion of existing packaging (outdated designs, product stock)
- ensuring regulatory compliance for all new packaging redesigns
- evaluating procurement of packaging components with vendors, where the redesigns warranted national brand equivalency
- ensuring that re-designed packaging was printed in time for production runs and modular re-sets
